Organic Arnica:
Used for centuries as a natural pain reliever and to treat bruising, arnica works quickly to repair damaged blood vessels, reduce swelling at the site of the injury, and to eliminate pain. We use a special blend of organic arnica with natural antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties.
That no pain no gain saying is great while we are training or working out, but definitely not after!
Organic Copaiba Oil:
Naturally derived from the sap of the Copaiba Tree, copaiba oil contains high amounts of beta-caryophyllene, which has a unique ability to bind with cannabinoid receptors in the human body's immune system, helping to reduce pain and inflammation. Our copaiba oil is organic, ethically sourced, and sustainably harvested in the Amazon rainforest. Copaiba oil has been used in traditional medicine by indigenous peoples of the Amazon for centuries, especially as an anti-inflammatory ingredient and for wound healing. This indigenous use originated from the observation of the natural world – specifically, of animals that, when wounded, rubbed themselves on the trunk of the copaiba tree to heal their wounds. Exposure to copaiba oil accelerates the healing of different types of wounds.
Organic Bees Wax:
Beeswax helps to create a protective breathable layer which draws moisture 
into the skin helping to prevent chafe. It has natural antibacterial properties which help heal and soothe irritations. Beeswax has been recorded as an important ingredient for skin care since the early Egyptian times and throughout all cultures.
one20percent has selected a very special organic beeswax from Koster Kuenen, a Dutch family business founded in 1852 (www.kosterkeunen.com). They are global leaders in sustainable practices. In 2008, they became the first natural wax company to obtain the USDA organic handling certificate.
Organic German Chamomile and Bisabolol:
German alpine chamomile is rich in antioxidant terpenes. These terpenes help reduce inflammation and have natural anti-bacterial, anti-fungal properties. The extracts have been used for medicinal purposes since Roman times. We included German alpine chamomile in our products, which has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-irritant and anti-microbial properties and is superior in performance to the more commonly used Roman chamomile. Bisabolol is one of the most powerful terpenes in German chamomile. The bisabolol we use is extracted with CO2 to ensure there is no residue or contaminants from carriers. Bisabolol is known for anti-irritant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-microbial properties. It helps to draw moisture into the skin, keeping skin moist, supple and less likely to chafe or become irritated. It is an excellent source of Vitamin B (panthenol). We use both German alpine chamomile and bisabolol for a concentration of the powerful natural benefits of these ancient medicinal herbs.
Dead Sea Salt Magnesium Chloride:
An essential electrolyte necessary for the proper function of muscles, nerves and enzymes, magnesium chloride also boosts recovery by relieving muscle tension, calming the nervous system for improved sleep and recovery and helping circulation of the blood which reduces swelling. It is important for athletes to maintain sufficient magnesium levels in order to improve exercise performance by increasing strength and power as well as improved extension, flexion and rotation. Our highest quality magnesium chloride is extracted from the brine of the Dead Sea.
Organic Licorice Root Extract:
Components of licorice root have been identified and associated with antioxidant, antiviral, antimicrobial, and anti‐inflammatory activities. One of its components, known as glabridin, is a potent antioxidant and skin-soothing ingredient. Licorice root is also used as an ingredient in skin repair creams and helps brighten the skin and improve the look of uneven skin tone. Bonus, and you're welcome!
Menthol:
Penetrating the skin and delivering sensations of soothing, cooling, and then warming comfort, menthol is used to treat aches and pains of the muscles and joints including arthritis, backache and sprains. Menthol helps the skin absorb pain relieving medication.
Organic Cucumber Extracts:
that help fight oxidative damage caused by free radicals. They contain caffeic acid and folic acid which help increase collagen production and maintain skin health. Cucumbers also contain flavonoids and antioxidants that decrease swelling, redness and irritation, and provide a cooling effect that helps shrink dilated blood vessels, reducing swelling. Cucumber extract is also slightly alkaline, helping to reduce acids and balance pH of the skin.
Organic Tea Tree Oil:
Tea tree oil has been used as a traditional medicinal treatment by Aboriginal Australians for centuries. The oil has been adopted for use in natural healing products as a strong broad-spectrum antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungicide with properties to treat skin infections and irritations.
We use an organic tea tree oil that is free from herbicides and pesticides and has been produced in a sustainable manner.
Organic Ginkgo Biloba:
The ginkgo tree is sometimes referred to as a living fossil as it is the last species in an ancient order - fossils have been found that are over 270 million years old. Originating in China, and used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years, the product is extracted from the leaves of the tree and is a sustainable ingredient.
Ginkgo contains high levels of flavonoids and terpenoids, compounds known for their strong antioxidant effects and for their powerful effect to dilate blood vessels and improve blood flow, improving everything from heart health to brain function. Long hours in the saddle can cause constrictions of blood flow which ginkgo has been shown to help mitigate.
Organic Bergamot:
The bergamot fruit is from the citrus family and the oils are extracted from the rind. The oil has calming effects by lowering cortisol levels. It has antibacterial and antibiotic properties, inhibiting the growth of bacteria and infection. Compounds in bergamot are antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory. It calms nerve sensitivity, acting as a natural pain reliever.
The scent is traditionally used to alleviate stress and promote a feeling of strength.
The origins of bergamot’s discovery are unclear. We know bergamot was found along the old trade routes from central Asia to Italy and the Canary Islands, and has been used as a healing and skin care ingredient for centuries.
Organic Shea Butter:
Shea butter has been used for body care for centuries. It has a high concentration of vitamins and fatty acids. Shea butter is easy for your skin to fully absorb. With natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungicides, it helps to regenerate healthy skin cell growth, is high in vitamins A, E and F and has properties that help prevent the breakdown of collagen.
It is an excellent carrier of active ingredients while moisturizing and protecting your skin.
Olive Oil and Olive Fruit Oil:
Olive oil is one of the most prestigious oils of the Mediterranean, used not only in food but also in cosmetic and body care applications. It is easily absorbed and helps protect the skin from dehydration. We use unsaponifiable olive oil obtained from the cold pressing of olives. This high grade fraction of the oil does not contain fatty compounds. It is rich in phytosterols, squalene, beta-carotene and alpha-tocopherol, valuable substances for the skin with antioxidant benefits.
High-performance Silicone:
Team one20percent pedaled our bikes thousands of kilometers and ran up and down mountains with backpacks and heart rate monitor straps to stress test chamois cream formulas with and without silicone. We found that adding a touch of premium silicone to our organic beeswax base gave the added durability and multi-hour anti-chafe protection required for a high-performance product suitable for training and racing. Our expert team chemist selected a safe high-performance silicone that is non-occlusive (breathable), non-comedogenic (does not block pores), with a molecule too large for transdermal absorption.
The result is our V120 and P120 anti-chafe creams with our proprietary moisture-proof breathable barrier.
Our safe high-performance silicone is clear and colourless and works with our organic beeswax to create a thin but highly effective barrier that protects the skin and adds to the spread of the product.
